Presented as part of its 2025–2026 Organ Recital programming, Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, Chestnut Hill offered a seventeen-part Lenten Recital Series featuring the complete performance of Charles Tournemire’s two-hundred-fifty-three-movement, fifteen-hour-long masterpiece, L’Orgue Mystique, performed on their historic Aeolian-Skinner organ. Performed only in part in 2020 due to the onset of the pandemic, this recital was represented, this time in light of the publication of Charles Tournemire’s L’Orgue Mystique: La Haute Mission and the organ’s restoration. The live-stream is available below or on YouTube through the “St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Chestnut Hill” YouTube Channel or through the series’ playlist. Over the coming year, each of these videos will be remastered with titles and images, expanding upon the music and the topics discussed and will be posted permanently on this website for those wishing to learn more about this masterpiece.
